‘The money better be back by the time I'm home': Housemate refuses to let broke roommate get away with taking $1,000 from his room while he was out

This housemate was in for a rude awakening when they arrived home one day only to discover that a whopping $1,000 in cash was missing from his bedroom. The money was there, and now it wasn't… living with a roommate, he only had one suspect to confront. This roommate was a real pain and was constantly complaining to him and creating 'boundaries'. Funny, isn't there such a boundary that is protected by the law called 'stealing'?

People are wild. The housemate didn't have any financial help from friends or family, and he really needed the cash. But it's hard to get someone to admit they stole money from you. Still, he had to try… it's not like he had a choice. I really empathize with the dude, it's not easy telling a person you live with that you know they stole from you.     what's their name listen if your really apprehensive, i don't want to, but i can inform the school/police about this incident i know ur not at fault but it's still an accessory to the crime in a way I was hold on I'm helping my mom that's why I didn't text you back I will send the number when I get a chance I really don't want to be involved with this.

    Yes I know this is my fault for leaving it out in the open, but how have to be. of a person do you Summary I constantly respected my roommates boundaries and complaints about me and I come home today to find out her and her visitor stole 1k from me. I am located in Illinois, Chicago for school. This is the only source of money I have, I don't receive any help from family and I don't have a job.

    I reported to the RA on duty, supposedly the report has been filed and Upper management will handle it. I contacted public safety and they said they will contact her after I file my report. I don't know if I should wait and see if she will give me back my money on monday or just file the report. I've suspected her to be stealing my money for awhile.
